SAOS was established in 1905 to strengthen the profitability and effectiveness of Scotland’s farming and rural businesses through co-operation.
We are Scotland’s experts on farmer co-ops and food industry collaboration. We provide a range of specialist information, development and consultancy services.
We are a development organisation owned by our members. We provide a range of specialist services that our members have requested, that are not available elsewhere.

Developing staff capability is one of the most effective ways to improve a co-op’s performance.
We help co-op directors, managers and staff develop their skills and knowledge through events and training.
As part of a programme of Continuing Professional Development (CPD), farmer directors and staff should regularly update their skills and take the time out to learn from each other.
Let us know and remember many of our training events are open, and very relevant, to non co-op members.
