Negotiation and Dispute Resolution Skills - NOW FULLY BOOKED

27 March 2024

10:00am - 4:00pm

The Landmark Hotel and Leisure Club, Kingsway West, Dundee, DD2 5JT tbc

The ability to negotiate and to manage conflict effectively are amongst the most valuable skills we can develop to improve our management and leadership performance and enhance our personal development. Not only does developing these skills enable us to negotiate better deals and commercial agreements, these skills also enable teams to be managed more efficiently, promote more constructive interactions with customers, stakeholders and colleagues, and allow difficult interactions to be handled more successfully. ‘Negotiation & Dispute Resolution Skills’ is a one day seminar that provides an insightful strategic analysis of the negotiation and conflict management process and goes on to provide key practical tools and techniques that can be used in a range of negotiation and conflict scenarios. Participants will leave this course having improved their ability to add value through the negotiation and conflict management processes and will have enhanced their capacities as managers and leaders.

In this seminar participants will:

• Gain valuable insight into their own natural negotiation and conflict management style
• Develop a deeper understanding of negotiation and conflict management through a detailed analysis of the process
• Gain the essential tools and knowledge to plan and manage negotiations and workplace conflict scenarios
• Understand key negotiation and mediation strategies and how to apply them in a range of situations
• Enhance their ability to add value through the effective use of negotiation and mediation tools and strategies
• Build on their existing experience and skill to become a more effective negotiator and conflict manager

Training Methodology

This seminar is designed to be highly interactive, using a mix of case studies, roleplay exercises, self-assessment questionnaires, presentations and group discussion to develop the subject around participants’ own experiences and needs. It presents an opportunity for participants to practice the skills taught using a variety of hands on negotiation exercises that stress participation and that reinforce and build on the comprehensive course materials.

Dr T C Hutcheson BSc (Hons), LLB, DipLP, MBA, PHd will deliver this workshop. Delivered for the first time earlier this year, it has proved to be hugely successful so please book early to avoid disappointment.
