FIA Certification Officer

Food Integrity Assurance (FIA) is delighted to have been awarded the contracts to deliver assessment and certification services on behalf of Quality Meat Scotland and Scottish Quality Crops which will support over 13,000 agricultural businesses throughout Scotland.

We are seeking to employ a Certification Officer, with demonstrable experience within the livestock and crops sectors and/or the certification industry, to join our expanding certification team in managing the delivery of certification requirements for the Schemes owned by Quality Meat Scotland and Scottish Quality Crops.

The successful applicant will also have excellent interpersonal skills with a positive and proactive work ethic. They will be confident in handling key relationships with scheme members, our field-based assessor team, certification team colleagues and external clients. A full training program will be provided for the role which is a full-time position commanding a very competitive salary in combination with a hybrid working model.

Key responsibilities will include:

  • Undertaking evaluation, technical review and certification of assessment reports as required in accordance with ISO 17065, and FIA quality requirements
  • Maintaining scheme membership details updating any amendments in a prompt and accurate manner within the FIA data system
  • Being a point of contact for Quality Meat Scotland and Scottish Quality Crops Scheme members providing timely response to membership queries
  • Liaising with the Technical Manager and Team Leaders to ensure farm assessment reports are delivered on time and to quality expectations
  • Liaising with FIA assessors providing a prompt response to queries in relation to assessment activity
