17 December 2020
We’ve obviously had to take things online for our 2021 conference, but we’re not going to let that hold us back. We’re really excited about the possibilities this new way of delivering the conference gives us.
The whole SAOS team has been involved in the planning and we’ve invited several co-op members and partner organisations to join the party and help us showcase some of the positive things going on in our industry and beyond. The list has been growing steadily and now includes Scotland Food & Drink, SmartRural, SEFARI, RHET, RISS, FAS, RSABI, SQC, SSPO, Scene and Herd, QMS, Grampian Growers, Tayforth Machinery Ring, Farm Stock Scotland, Scottish Pig Producers and Highland Grain!
As usual, our aim is to engage, discuss and hopefully even inspire our attendees – as well as giving you a virtual shot in the arm in these difficult times.
We think we've got something for everyone in our A-Z, and a few surprises in store.
We have speaker sessions examining some of our A-Z topics more closely; we’ll be talking about the need for ambition and focus to find and maximise opportunities that are out there, and we’ll share examples of great work that’s being done by our co-op members, in our supply chain work, and elsewhere in our various workstreams. Other topics will be covered off in 'Expo booths' which attendees can virtually browse. There will be opportunities to network and even a chance to meet in the virtual bar post conference for those who'd like to.
We’ll also be asking you all to get behind our new campaign to get rural Scotland better connected – we think it’s about time, don’t you? Join us on the day to find out more.
Once again our grateful thanks go to NFU Mutual for supporting the conference - and to Ledingham Chalmers for sponsoring the tea break and Border Biscuits for some provisions!
As this year's conference is free of charge, we'd like to encourage delegates to help us support RSABI. The SAOS 'team will be virtually walking to Dunblane' (our usual conference venue) - that's a collective 1495 miles! Find out how to support us here
We think it’s going to be a really great conference – do come along and join us (28th Jan from 2pm)
