About us

Scotland’s experts on farmer co-ops and food industry collaboration, we work with food and farming businesses to make them more profitable, competitive, and sustainable - #workingtogether to shape the future, today.

What we do

All our work helps facilitate farmers and food and drink businesses to work together effectively. Over the years we've expanded and developed subsidiary businesses - getting the right people together and making innovative advancements - to help benefit food, farming and rural Scotland.

Events & Training

Developing staff capability is one of the most effective ways to improve a co-op’s performance. Check out our events and training programme - most of which are open to non co-op members too.

Membership

As a development organisation, owned by our members, we provide a range of specialist services not available elsewhere, to assist them in developing their people and their businesses. Get in touch to find out how we can help you.

How Resilient is Your Business?

You can find out for free - get in touch!

At our recent conference, Allene Bruce highlighted some of the work we’ve been doing on building resilient supply chains. One of the projects has been developed to allow businesses and supply chains to self-assess their resilience, it is free of charge, and we’re actively looking for companies to get involved with this work.

The self-assessment tool is a set of 38 straightforward questions which focus on six key characteristics which build resilience. They should take about 15-20 minutes to complete and include questions on:

  • Performance – includes profitability/surpluses, finances and productivity
  • Collaboration – includes planning, engagement with other stakeholders, contracts, information etc
  • Systems, use of data and governance
  • People, skills and leadership
  • Sustainability – biodiversity, nutrient management, energy and water use etc
  • Diversity – includes markets, succession and management

The results will highlight areas of key strengths and challenges, and will provide support to address issues.
