Scotland’s experts on farmer co-ops and food industry collaboration, we work with food and farming businesses to make them more profitable, competitive, and sustainable - #workingtogether to shape the future, today.
All our work helps facilitate farmers and food and drink businesses to work together effectively. Over the years we've expanded and developed subsidiary businesses - getting the right people together and making innovative advancements - to help benefit food, farming and rural Scotland.
Developing staff capability is one of the most effective ways to improve a co-op’s performance. Check out our events and training programme - most of which are open to non co-op members too.
As a development organisation, owned by our members, we provide a range of specialist services not available elsewhere, to assist them in developing their people and their businesses. Get in touch to find out how we can help you.

Mikaela Linden Joins SAOS Team
SAOS, Scotland’s agri co-op and supply chain collaboration expert body, has appointed Mikaela Linden as a Supply Chain Project Manager, further strengthening the team’s expertise and capacity in supply chain collaboration and development.
Mikaela joins us from New Nutrition Business, where she was responsible for project management, strategy development, and building relationships with key food and drink clients in the UK and internationally. She also brings extensive marketing experience, particularly in translating innovation, market analysis and consumer insights into engaging, easily-digestable content.
Allene Bruce, Head of Supply Chain Development at SAOS, commented: “We are delighted to have Mikaela join the team. She brings additional expertise to support our development work and new insights to help strengthen the way we manage and deliver projects across the supply chain. I’m confident she’ll be a valuable addition to the team. We’re particularly delighted that Mikaela joins just in time for our conference, it’s a great opportunity for her to meet new contacts from our co-op membership and wider networks.”
Mikaela added: “I’m excited to be joining the talented team at SAOS to help with their work to develop stronger, more resilient and more sustainable food and drink supply chains. Having worked alongside SAOS on projects in my previous role, I was drawn to the collaborative culture and the incredibly important work that SAOS does in my adopted home country of Scotland and I’m excited to contribute to this!”
